About the Department:

The Department of Geography was established circa 1972 with the College. Dr. Madhavi Paprikar was the first Head of the Department who took great efforts to nurture the department from 1972 to 2006. Dr. A. P Mahajan also gave his valuable contribution to the department while also cultivating his leadership skills that resulted in his taking up the responsibility of the Principal’s post at Pragati College in Dombivli. Shri V. R. Chavan was the Head between 2006 and 2010 after which Dr. Pratibha Gadhe is entrusted with the responsibility to lead the department. The dept. offers U.G. programmes as per NEP 2020 from A.Y. 23-24; P.G. programmes (M.A. Geography) from A.Y. 22-23

The students of TYBA Geography in 2017-18 batch completed a survey on Kalyan-Shil Road under the guidance of Ms. Sheetal Chitre for the MMRDA.
Mr. Gaurav Arote
is currently working with the Forest Survey of India as a senior officer.
Many students of the department have qualified the necessary criteria for Assistant Professorship and are serving in various colleges across Maharashtra.
