About the Department: 
Department of History is one of the active departments in B. K. Birla College (Autonomous), Kalyan. The department has been functioning very effectively and has highly sustained its academic performance. The faculty members are involved in research activities and have received financial assistance from University of Mumbai, and University Grants Commission. Department of History has two dedicated faculty members. They attend refresher courses and participate in various international and national seminars /conferences/webinars. The members are actively involved as examiners, paper setters and moderators at University examinations and are members of Board of Studies of the College Department. Dr. Suvarna Jadhav is member and resource person for postgraduate teaching in the college and also in neighbouring colleges. Dr. (Mrs.) She is also the Member of Epigraphy Society of India and Place, Name society of India.
