Greetings from B. K. Birla College (Autonomous), Kalyan!

It has been a very purposeful and fruitful journey for me at our great institution. After retiring from the post of Principal in May 2018, I have been appointed as a Director (Education). I shall ever remain indebted to the esteemed Management for having placed their trust and faith upon me. I am committed to providing our students with a high-quality education that will prepare them for success in their future endeavours.

B. K. Birla College of Arts, Science and Commerce (Autonomous), Kalyan, has been established in 1972 by the Kalyan Citizens' Education Society with the blessings of Pujya Shri B. K. Birla ji and Pujya Smt. Sarala ji Birla. It is a multi-faculty premier institution of higher learning, with an enrolment of more than 13,500+ students (9,100+ students in UG, PG and Research Programmes and 4,400+ in Junior College), is affiliated to the University of Mumbai.
We firmly believe that education is the key to a nation's progress. Our institution is built upon a solid foundation of the values, that aims to promote holistic education and culture in all aspects in order to achieve and fulfil the mission statement that we believe in. The College offers several new-age skill-based academic programs catering to the needs of the industry and endeavours to comfort the students with all the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in their chosen fields. Our students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of co-curricular and extracurricular activities, such as NCC, NSS, sports, various associations, clubs, etc. With a repute of being excellent and honored with numerous accolades, we try to maintain the highest academic standards, promote discipline, and provide holistic education. We believe in participatory management.

We are aware that choosing the right institution to pursue your degree in a desired field is a crucial decision. It sets the foundation for your career. There are several factors to consider before joining any institution, like academic environment, quality of teaching and learning, industry linkages and support facilities and our College has always prioritized all these factors while imparting the quality education that matches global standards. We are all set to implement the NEP 2020 from this academic year, 2023-24.

The College is well known for promoting Research, an integral part of teaching in most of the academic programs. Our 25 faculty members are Ph.D. Guides. Many faculty members have worked on Major and Minor Research Projects and published several research papers. Many have contributed 45 Patents (29 granted and 16 published) and have authored books.

The College is spread over 20 acres of land (Including B. K. Birla Public School) in the prime location of Kalyan city. Along with imparting quality education, BKBCK believes in conserving nature (and safeguarding community values) through several Green initiatives towards green campus (like ETP, STP, rainwater harvesting, solar power and the Green Library concept for reducing carbon footprints) and several community outreach activities.

The recently added New Building (of 55,000 sq. ft. area) has further augmented the existing infrastructure to provide much better amenities, especially for science departments.

We at BKBCK provide all students with an environment that fosters intellectual growth, teamwork, and innovative problem-solving skills through close collaboration with businesses, industries and other institutions. We aim to help and empower our students to reach the pinnacle of their careers and achieve their dreams.

We attribute our success to the unwavering support, motivation and guidance provided by Shri O. R. Chitlange, CEO, Grasim Industries Ltd. (VFY-Fashion Yarn Business) and Chairman, Governing Council, BKBCK. We express our deepest gratitude to him and the esteemed members of the Management for their unconditional support and encouragement. We acknowledge and appreciate the sincere and dedicated efforts of all the faculty members and support staff and the love, affection and support from the parents, alumni, students and others.

Quality is a journey that requires persistent efforts and dedication. We acknowledge that there is still a long way to go to translate our dreams into reality. However, with the active cooperation of all our stakeholders, we optimistically look at the future with hope and enthusiasm.
